History
The North Sask Female Hockey League was founded in 2002, when Jim Jackson of Prince Albert, asked Al Jellicoe of Tisdale, Lionel Schmyr of Melfort, Luc Robin and Sherri Rousson of Prince Albert, if they would be interested in developing a League for Females to play in. The interest was there and a committee was developed.
The first year the League had seven (7) Bantam/Midget teams
and played a home/home series. The puck

The League developed a Division 3, in 2004, with seven (7) teams as there was no place for the Pee Wee age Females to play. The Division 2 was still recognized as Bantam/Midget age. In 2004 a Division 1 or “AA” was developed to allow Bantam/Midget age Female players that needed more of a challenge, a place to play.
Here we are September 2006, going into our 5th season with overwhelming interest in Female Hockey. The League has a Division 1, Division 2 and a Division 3. For the 2006-2007 season the NSFHL has formed a Junior Division for Females 18 to 22 years of age.
The NSFHL has a Constitution and Bylaws that was developed by Judy Jackson in 2005. The League has a Web site that has updated information and player/team stats. www.nsfhl.com
Jim Jackson resigned as President of the NSFHL this month to become a Vice President of the SFMAAAHL. Jim sat as President of the NSFHL since 2002. The newly elected President is Al Jellicoe of Tisdale.
